Meet Caroline – Naturopath
When you’re not seeing me at the clinic, you’ll find me at a live music event, at the local Burleigh Heads farmer’s markets, dreaming of my next travel adventure, or camping with the family.
My journey in the health industry started back in 1999, when I completed my Nursing degree, and first started in women’s health. I worked with women at all stages of life, suffering different women’s health issues such as endometriosis and PCOS, and found myself drawn to the strength women possess when faced with life challenges. Soon I had an opportunity to concentrate on IVF nursing, and I was hooked. I loved it, and always felt so fortunate to work with couples in such a personal way. I worked in top IVF clinics in London, Auckland and finally settling on the beautiful sunny Gold Coast.
Being a Naturopath in Fertility and Women’s Health is my Passion!
Over a decade was spent nursing couples through various stages of fertility treatments. And this is what cemented a particular passion for education. I was educating, supporting, and empowering couples through their individual fertility treatments. This included full IVF treatments, artificial insemination cycles, thawed embryo transfers, and the donor egg program.
It was during this time that I wanted to start a family of my own but was faced with the very thing that I had been helping couples with for so long. Despite having extensive knowledge about how to make a baby, it just wasn’t happening. My husband and I were an average couple that needed fertility help too. Fortunately, with assistance, and the challenge of a devastating pregnancy loss too, we went on to conceive our now two young daughters through IVF treatments. I truly feel this personal fertility journey gave me a unique understanding from all sides, which just strengthened my compassion to the very couples I was helping.
Furthermore, extreme stress of being at an age & stage of my life where I was ‘trying to do it all’ opened the flood gates for my own health challenges, as I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Autoimmunity is such a condition of genetics vs lifestyle, which natural therapies has so much to offer.
It was also during these years, I explored learning natural options to healthcare, and eventually completed my naturopathy degree. I always had a vision to educate, empower, and help women and couples in very personal experiences of their life. So, was born Sage Naturopathics.
My absolute passion now is being a women’s health naturopath
I love the ability to spend the time trying to understand my client, what is important to them, what they’re finding difficult, and supporting and guiding them through their challenges.
I love offering practical and supportive advice, as well as drawing on natural herbs and medicines to complement the healing journey.
I believe knowledge is empowering. The passion for education that I gained in my nursing, has continued and I love empowering people with information so they can support themselves long term.
I have always been told I’m very down-to-earth, with a real understanding of life the in the real world, so I love formulating individualised treatment protocols, offering practical advice & realistic advice.
